Wedding Celebrant in Exmouth

Getting married in Exmouth

Exmouth is a place I know really well. My parents live here, so I’m in and around the town all the time, and it’s lovely to be able to combine that connection with something I do professionally.

Julie Fox leading Sophie and Ben's garden wedding ceremony in Exmouth

I’ve conducted a number of weddings in Exmouth, including some beautiful celebrations in private gardens. Sophie and Ben’s wedding is a lovely example – a very personal day in a setting that meant something to them.

Exmouth lends itself to this sort of wedding – so many houses have their own gorgeous views of the coast. If you have a beautiful garden, there’s no reason your ceremony has to take place in a conventional venue.

But there are some really good venue options in Exmouth too.

Exmouth wedding venues

Ocean

Ocean is one of my favourites. Its position on the seafront is unrivalled. It gives you wonderful views across the Exe Estuary, and there are options for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies.

The Ocean Suite and its terraces make the most of that coastal setting, so it’s a great choice if you want the sea and estuary to be part of the day rather than simply being somewhere nearby. It can cater for large numbers too.

Exmouth Country Lodge

Then there’s Exmouth Wedding Venue, or Exmouth Country Lodge, on Maer Lane. It has a completely different feel – more rural and relaxed, with a 16th-century Cob Barn, an orchard for outdoor ceremonies, a reception barn and accommodation on site.

It’s a lovely option if you’re looking for somewhere where everyone can stay together and make more of a weekend of the wedding.

There are also several hotels around the town which offer a more traditional wedding experience, including the Royal Beacon Hotel, Manor Hotel and Imperial Hotel. Being so close to the seafront is a real bonus, particularly if you have guests travelling from elsewhere and want somewhere with accommodation, restaurants and everything else close at hand.

And just outside the town, I’ve conducted ceremonies at Bicton College, set in 200 acres of historic parkland near East Budleigh, and Woodbury Park, a country hotel and golf resort a short drive away, with views across the Exe Valley.

Your Exmouth celebrant

Because I’m in Exmouth so often, I can offer something a little more useful than simply knowing the names of the local venues.

I know the area, I know what’s around them, and I’ve actually conducted ceremonies here. If you’re still deciding where to get married, I’m very happy to chat through the possibilities and help you think about what might work for the sort of day you have in mind.

And wherever you choose, I’ll create a ceremony that feels like you – whether that’s a big celebration overlooking the estuary, a relaxed wedding at Exmouth Country Lodge, or a small garden ceremony surrounded by the people who matter most.

“Comments from our guests included that she was the best celebrant they’d seen, they thought she must be a friend with how well she knew us and her sharing of our story was very entertaining.”
