Getting married in Mid Devon
Mid Devon is a lovely part of the county for a wedding. There’s a real mix of countryside, farms, barns and country houses, with plenty of places where you can have a wedding that feels relaxed and personal rather than overly formal.

It’s an area I know through the weddings I’ve conducted here, including celebrations in Stoodleigh, Cullompton and the surrounding countryside.
I really like the variety you get in this part of Devon. You can be somewhere beautifully rural and peaceful, but still within easy reach of Exeter, Tiverton and the main routes through the county.
I conducted a barn wedding for Lucy and Beau in Stoodleigh, and it was a lovely example of what makes this part of Devon so appealing. It’s peaceful, rural and surrounded by beautiful countryside, with that wonderful feeling of being away from it all.
There are plenty of similar settings around Tiverton and the villages beyond it, from private homes and farms to barns and country houses. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels personal and relaxed, rather than like a conventional hotel wedding, Mid Devon has lots to offer.
There are some lovely wedding venues around Tiverton, Crediton and Cullompton, and the wider Mid Devon countryside has plenty of smaller and more individual places to consider too.
If you’re not sure where to start, I’m always happy to talk through the options with you. Sometimes the venue you initially have in mind isn’t necessarily the one that suits the sort of wedding you’re actually hoping to create.
I’m based in Exeter and regularly travel across Devon for weddings, so Mid Devon is very much on my doorstep.
If you’re getting married in Tiverton, Crediton, Cullompton, Stoodleigh or somewhere in the surrounding countryside, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
Tell me about your venue, your ideas and the sort of ceremony you have in mind, and we can start from there. I’ll get to know you properly and write a ceremony that feels personal to you.
