Dating back to 1860, The Grange has all the character of a traditional Devon country house, with plenty of charm of its own.
I’ve celebrated two very special occasions here: Steve and Di’s vow renewal, followed by Kate and Jason’s wedding. It’s always nice to conduct a ceremony somewhere so close to home.
A real sense of arrival
The first thing you notice is the sweeping driveway. Coming up the drive towards the house makes a real statement, and your guests will feel they’ve arrived somewhere special before they’ve even stepped inside.
Lovely gardens
The gardens are one of the best things about The Grange. They’re established, green and peaceful, and make a lovely contrast to the house itself.
They’re a beautiful backdrop for an outdoor ceremony too, with plenty of spots for photos surrounded by the Devon countryside.
An intimate country house wedding
The Grange feels much more like a country house than a large, purpose-built wedding venue. If you’re looking for somewhere with character, rather than somewhere that feels like every other venue you’ve been round, it’s well worth a visit.
Steve and Di’s vow renewal
My first ceremony here was Steve and Di’s vow renewal. As the owners of the hotel, they trusted me to create a one-of-a-kind ceremony for all their family and friends – and it was full of happy memories and laughter.
I went back not long after for Kate and Jason’s wedding, and it’s always a pleasure to return somewhere I’ve already helped create such important memories.
A country house wedding venue near Exeter
The Grange is in Rockbeare, just outside Exeter, so it’s easy to reach for local guests and for anyone travelling from further afield.
If you’d like a characterful country house with an impressive approach and beautiful gardens, The Grange Court Hotel is a lovely choice – and as it’s practically on my doorstep, I’d be delighted to be part of your day there.
